The Wellerman
I really love to sing this song, and therefore made a set of cutlery with all verses and harmonies on them so that you can sing it around the dinner table!
The Design:
For this song I had no access to the original notation but the song i well known and I therefore thought it would be a perfect tune to sing together around the dinner table. I made my design and then hand etch it in to my antique materials. Every item in my online shop, I have designed and etched by hand, which makes them unique and one of a kind items. I wanted to create something meaningful and beautiful but I also wanted to include the mindset of sustainability in to it. Therefor the materials are old antique items redesigned for a bigger and musical purpose of connection and friendship.
The items patina therefor gives the history and culture context more veritas, and also reminds us of the people who came before us. I also arrange, record and make music videos of all my designs. In the slideshow down below, you can see my design for The Wellerman:

History:
A sea shanty is a genre of traditional folk song that was once commonly sung as a work song to accompany rhythmical labor aboard large merchant sailing vessels. They were found mostly on British and other European ships, and some had roots in lore and legend.
